ABOUT CABA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Head of School's Welcome,


         Caba National High School was formerly called Poblacion Norte Barangay High School during the year 1977 when it was put up as a barangay high school, through the initiatives of the barangay council of Barangay Poblacion Norte, headed by the late Nemesio Castillejos. It was originally located at the Caba Elementary School where the teachers and students made use of the vacant elementary classrooms. During the time of then President Corazon C. Aquino, all barangay high schools were changed into 189 high schools under PD 189 s. 1988. That was then the time when Poblacion Norte Barangay High School was called Poblacion Norte High School until it finally became Poblacion Norte High School.After the 1990 killer quake, the teachers decided to make use of the new buildings, constructed in the new site at Las-ud, Caba, La Union.The school’s new site is located in a 2, 272 square meters, surrounded by different barangays; bounded on the north by barangay Bautista; on the west by barangay Las-ud; on the east by barangay Poblacion Norte. It caters from these above-mentioned barangays including other neighboring barangays of Caba, Aringay and other towns.In the year 2000, the school principal, Mrs. Elvira Aglubat prepared a resolution to the Provincial School Board, changing the name of the school into Caba National High School, for the reason that it serves as the central high school of the town. The resolution was unanimously approved and on June 2001, and the school was renamed as Caba National High School. After the former principal was transferred to San Jose National High School, Dr. Josefina T. Samy took over in June 2012.With the implementation of the K-12 for the SY 2012-2013, and as part of the DepEd thrusts, the school continue to observe Education for All, because Caba National High School accepts students who enroll regardless of where they come from and who they are.At present, popularly known as Caba National High School under the management of the Secondary School Principal with the cooperation of the seventeen (17) Nationally funded and two (2) Provincial School Board teachers, it will continue to grow and develop through the years to come.
